On Monday, March 11, 2013, the School of Education at Millersville University and the Pennsylvania Council for the Social Studies (PCSS) will conduct a seminar at Millersville University. The purpose of this day-long seminar is to enhance the preparation of future middle level and secondary educators in the teaching of social studies. The seminar is free to middle level students wishing to attend. Registration will begin at 8:30 am. Sessions will begin at 9:00 am and end at 4:00 pm. There is no admission charge and lunch is free. Topics for the March 11 seminar will include civics education, technology in the social studies classroom, the effect of the new Keystone Exams on the social studies curriculum, job opportunities in the social studies area. During the lunch hour, there will be an initiation of new members into the recently formed Millersville University PCSS Student Chapter.
