Dear Colleagues,
I am proud to partner with the Pennsylvania Council for the Social Studies to share an opportunity for high school teachers and college faculty to lead a short-term study abroad program in the Dominican Republic.
This 8-day program—The Sociology of Crossing Cultures—blends academic instruction with immersive, in-country experiences. It is designed so you can focus on teaching while all logistics are fully managed.
Program Snapshot
- Dominican Republic | 8 days (spring break or summer)
- 3 academic credits (in partnership with Gratz College)
- Open to high school students (earning college credit) and college students
Your Role
- Lead the academic component of the course
- Facilitate pre, in-country, and post-trip learning
- Grade student work
- Build your travel cohort of students, with full support and guidance from our team
What We Provide
- Full program design and coordination
- Housing, transportation, excursions, and on-site staff
- Risk management and all travel logistics
- Recruitment support, materials, and advising

Please see the attached overview for details on stipend, travel coverage, and program structure, including:
- $3,500–$8,000 faculty stipend (based on enrollment)
- All travel expenses covered
- Additional chaperone support
