Future of Social Studies in Pennsylvania
The future of Social Studies in Pennsylvania is directly related to the successful future of our Commonwealth. It is imperative that as educators and the general public that we strive to champion a robust demand for ongoing and engaging Social Studies education in all school systems. Without the resources, advocacy, and leadership that calls for a significant educational, fiscal, and intellectual investment in Social Studies education, the Commonwealth will not celebrate and learn from the past, nor move successfully through the 21st century as a growth-minded, and inclusive state without exhaustive efforts to champion the critical nature of Social Studies. As an educator, there is no doubt that the value of Social Studies as part of the educational system is only growing, and together PCSS can ensure that Social Studies meshes deeply into the fabric of the future of Pennsylvania.
