It was expected that election results would not be readily available yesterday or today, but again, there are a number of pundits who predict we’ll have results this week. You might be interested to know that there were a few presidencies that took some time before all the results were in. Here’s every cover page of the Washington Post on the day after election day, since 1880.
President Peri ended with a prayer-- Pray now for continuing peace and that our next President, whomever it may be, will help us to conquer Covid and bring us swiftly to a next-normal.
As social studies champions, whether we pray or not, we need to celebrate how our disciplines will help our students understand whatever happens as the vote is counted and in its aftermath.
